4CS ACHIEVEMENTS IN 2022

Updated: Dec 29, 2022

As we are now approaching the end of 2022, we would like to go over the achievements that 4cornersport has made throughout the year and also what each individual coach has achieved with 4CS and beyond.

4CornerSport officially launched in May 2021. Since then we’ve had just over a year to organise everything that goes on behind the scenes such as equipment, locations, services and much more.

In that year Sammy and Dean sat down to discuss what we can give our players when they have a 1-1 session or small group session with us. From discussing this in-depth, we have been able to use various methods and coaching approaches that give as much help and guidance to our players as possible. Essentially, we did this to make sure we can support our players and to ensure we track and monitor their progressions accordingly. Once this was planned, we then knew it was time to get started.

We officially started our session delivery in the middle of July 2022 with 3 players attending our very first session. This went to 4 players by the end of the month and it was amazing to finally start delivering what we had been planning and to see it actually happen in action. The sense of achievement and enjoyment from the players was very rewarding for us both! This really increased our drive and determination to keep delivering to even more players throughout the local area.

Over the last 6 months, the sheer amount of player progressions has been simply astounding! As we now approach the last month of the year we have had the following success stories that have happened since working with these players:

  • One player achieving a place in Norwich City Academy

  • Two players progressing into Norwich City FC RDP Player Development Centres

  • One player achieving a place in Norwich City Select and Ipswich Town Futures Group (a year above his current age group)

  • One Player getting into Watford CSET Elites (a year above his current age group)

  • One player given a Norwich City FC RDP Advanced Player Development Centre Goalkeeping Trial

  • 1 Player given an Ipswich Town Foundation ATC trial

As you can see from the above, there have been a number of progressions across the player development pyramid and this makes us incredibly proud of all of our player’s achievements. Fortunately, we are still doing regular sessions with all of the players whose achievements are stated above and we are incredibly privileged to still be supporting these players on their exciting footballing journeys!

Whilst seeing players progress through the player development pyramid is always excellent to see, there are lots of other ways we quantify success and this can vary from a player becoming more positionally well rounded, gaining more knowledge and confidence in bettering an area of development or boosted motivation and performance when playing for their respective grassroots teams.

All of these successes are what drives us as an organisation to deliver excellent player specific approaches that benefit all our clients no matter what level they come in at, which, in turn, is what makes what we offer a truly unique player development oriented experience.

4CS KIT:

At 4CornerSport, we now have just under 40 players involved who all have their own unique individual training plans that are put into action across the month. With excellent facilities at our disposal this has allowed us to carry on our sessions at various locations and times which has enabled us to be flexible to offer our services right across the Cambridgeshire region. Another huge success for us at 4CS has been our kit launch for both coaches and players. Beforehand, we worked really hard on the design and types of attire we were going to produce, so it has been really nice to receive such positive reviews from everyone who has purchased their own unique personalised 4CS kit (especially with a vast majority of our players rocking the kit across our sessions!).

Lastly, we have had the privilege of bringing another talented and forward thinking young coach in Isaac (who started delivery with 4CS in September 2022). Isaac has shown a huge commitment towards all aspects of his delivery by consistently producing fantastic sessions irrespective of the age and skill level he works with. In addition to his excellent coaching delivery, he has also provided sponsorship for our coaches kit via his very own exciting project under the name ‘Slanky’ (in which the ‘Slanky’ logo can be seen on all of our kit) which has added a visually pleasing aesthetic to our kit; so a major thank you to Isaac for being an excellent addition to the 4CS team.

COACHES ACHIEVEMENT:

Now it's time to give you an insight into what the coaches have accomplished in their coaching/personal lives throughout the year.

Coach Sammy:

Personal Achievement:

In May 2022, I managed to complete an off peak mountain hike in Morocco. Mount Toubkal is the highest point in North Africa and I managed to get to the top and back down over a course of 3 days. This mountain is 4,167 metres above sea level and it took a total of 20 hours of walking. It was an amazing feeling when reaching the top with a huge sense of relief, excitement and achievement. By far one of the toughest things I’ve ever done but I am looking forward to another challenge of a similar nature!

Coach Dean:
Personal Achievement:

Whilst everything with 4CS has been nothing short of superb, a huge achievement for me has been working with Southampton FC (especially in the Girls PDP) which acts as the tier below the highest level of the Girls Development Pathway (The Regional Talent Centre). This has afforded me the opportunity to work with some supremely talented players and this has really helped me diversify my ever growing coaching skillset.

Coach Isaac:

Personal Achievement:

For me, I am really proud of launching Slanky which has been a personal ambition of mine for some time! I’m also equally as proud of stepping into the 1-1 and small group sessions as this has been the first time I have delivered such a wide variety of sessions, so these experiences have definitely helped me increase my confidence and coaching ability when working for 4CS.

SUMMARY OF 4CS IN 2022:

Collectively, we are massively proud of what 4CornerSport has been able to achieve in such a short space of time, It has gone such a long way so quickly! We are really excited to announce some exciting new opportunities we will be offering in the new year to our current and future participants! We just want to say a massive thank you to all the players who are with 4CS, all the parents who attend and watch from the sidelines no matter how harsh the weather can be, and all of our facility providers who ensure the surfaces we use are maintained to a superb standard.

Whilst we are grateful to everyone who attends our sessions, we would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to the parents of our first 4 players who trusted us and are still with us to this day. Alina, Louise, Jade and JP have been nothing short of superb, not only are they fantastic people but they are fantastic football parents who have fused their trust in us with commitment and curiosity to always want the best for their sons, hence why it is no surprise that all of their sons have made huge strides in regards to their development and have achieved so much across their own unique football development journeys.

4CornerSport has so much more to give to the Cambridgeshire region and beyond! Here’s to an even more prosperous 2023!
